A 42-year-old woman who was forced to endure losing her business, serious six-figure debts, bankruptcy and eventually divorce after her husband developed an expensive gambling habit has revealed that the cause of it all may well be a prescription drug.

The drug that allegedly caused the series of events that led to bankruptcy and divorce, a form of dopamine agonist, was prescribed to the woman’s husband after he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease a number of years ago.

Only now, after a US study into the dopamine agonist found that it may cause personality changes and compulsive disorders such as addictive gambling, has it emerged that it may well be responsible for the breakdown of the former couple’s finances and relationship.

The 42-year-old commented, “I believe I have been given the answers to things I struggled to get my head around for a long time.

“It is like finding a missing piece to a jigsaw. I am sure it was the medicine that was supposed to help that turned him into a liar and a gambler, and he had no way of stopping it.”

She added that she no longer blames her ex-husband for the forcing them into crisis debt management and bankruptcy.

Meanwhile, the 53-year-old Parkinson’s sufferer is set to launch a compensation claim against the manufacturer of the drug in question.

This is not a miracle solution. Make monthly payments as you want to, not as you're told to.
